Desires, Vision, and Goals – By Laurence Torr
God wants all His people to enjoy this life and God has a plan of success for all those that look to Him. It is God’s heart for you to have a successful journey through this life and He wants you to have a powerful impact and influence on others in this world by shining as lights in this world.
God has a plan for you, and He gives to us His desires, and Vision and Goals to aim at. Many Million’s people go through life living one day to the next day, with no direction, no major goals set, and so many are without hope.
There is a saying the two greatest days in a person’s life are the day they were born and the day they discovered why.
One of the greatest things we need to know is our purpose. We need to know what is it that God wants me to do. Once we become clear on our purpose, we can then start getting direction. It is a good thing to write down our goals and our major goal and keep it before us and God daily.
For example, my major goal is to move Gods word in all of the UK and the Whole of Europe and wherever God wants me to go, to encourage His people as well reach out to those that lost. This is my Burning desire to make known God and His power and to help others to really move with God and be successful.
A good question to ask our self is what is my burning desire in life. God has placed in each believer His desires and dreams it is when we get clear on what it is, we desire and want and what God wants then we take those desire before God.
Habakkuk 2:2-4 it says,
Habakkuk 2:2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
Verse 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
Verse 4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
I have my goal’s written down; here it is for an example.
In the senses realm it seems an impossible task to achieve But I will achieve it with God. I am Fully Persuaded. So daily when I wake up, I thank God for these things and last thing at night. Then God inspires me with little goals to aim at in the direction of the major goal.
It is a great thing to ask people what is your desire what do you want to do with and for God, what has God placed into your heart, then encourage people to write it down get clear and concerned and definite on your purpose. Then the answers start to come and the direction and then determine to never give up, be fully persuaded. Of course, there will be many challenges and sometimes complete failures or setbacks, but we never give up.
It reminds me of a teaching titled The Energy of Your Conviction
Where a lady Tilly Lewis opened a tomato factory when her advisers had warned, her desire and plan to grow Italian tomatoes would not grow successfully in California despite other people’s doubts in that same year she got the money and her factory was in full operation.
But early in the processing plants operation at a very critical moment the new steam boiler which were cooking the ripe tomatoes broke down. The steam was going out of her boilers, Of course Tilly Lewis was frantic. But she told the workers to stay where they were and although what had happen was beyond her control she did not give up she went outside sat down and got quite, and then she heard in the distance a steam train, she run back inside and called the locomotive offices in that area and within two hours arrangements had been made and a locomotive engine was sitting in a side track pumping steam into her boilers and her tomatoes began cooking again.
Her business became a success, in 1973 according to the record, this corporation began by Tilly Lewis did forty million dollars of Business.

When we know what it is, we want and we have a picture in mind of our major goal and we focus on that with God, then ideas and direction begin to open up for us.
God will provide the people we need the resources we need and the way and direction to go despite set back and roadblocks, we just have to be willing to move forward and not get discouraged to the point we give up.
If you feel tempted to give up and quit God will make a way where there seems no way.
1 Corinthians 10:13 (ISV) No temptation has overtaken you that is unusual for human beings. But God is faithful, and he will not allow you to be tempted beyond your strength. Instead, along with the temptation he will also provide a way out, so that you may be able to endure it.
Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Proverbs says where there is no vision the people wander aimlessly. The word Vision in this verse also means, a sight (mentally) that is a dream or revelation or oracle what is the picture you hold in mind of your future how do you see things, what has God shown to you, or what did the word from God revealed to you of what God has planned for you and wants you to do, what are your real dreams? Your life has a purpose, you are very important, you need to see yourself how God see you. You are not what you see in this sense’s realms, or what other say about you, you are what God says you are, you are healthy, wealthy prosperous and successful, and victorious,
Romans 5:17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
Because of the fall of Adam death reigned, lack and sickness reigned poverty reigned, But Because of Jesus Christ we have received abundance of grace and the gift or righteousness and we shall reign in life by one Jesus Christ.
As believers and Children and Heir of God and joint heir with Jesus Christ, we are to reign in this life by one Jesus Christ. As believer God wants His children to exercise kingly power, He wants His children to exercise the highest influence in this world today right now, and we can if we believe who we are in Christ.
Jesus Christ had His vision and Godly desires and goals, and He accomplished them by staying His focused with God, Jesus always done the will of the Father. God had sent Jesus to fulfil the work God wanted Him to do. He was focused and although there was setback and hinderances He completed His task for God and Man kind. We are in Christ and are super conquerors we triumph in every situation; and we say what Gods says,
Now we are born again we are complete in Christ. We are body, soul and spirit, we operate from the new man, who we are in Christ this is the mind set we must put on and fill it with Gods truths of who we are and what we have in Christ.
We set our thoughts on things above we keep focused daily on God and our main goal and do the things daily which is helping us towards it.
God is the one directing us, so the work is on God we do what He inspires us to do every day, our Help comes from Him.
God works with our faith building us up and He supplies to us His encouragement when we go to Him for direction, it does not matter one bit if people agree with you or not, it is what God wants you to do we are to obey.
Noah obeyed God even when it seemed like He was a crazy in the worlds eyes he preached and did not turn anyone’s heart to God, Noah was a preacher of righteousness. But He was faithful and focused on the vision and goal through his desire to do what God wanted He endured to the end.
Joshua needed encouragement from God to rise up and go, God told Joshua to say what God was saying to be strong and of a good courage, the senses told Joshua a complete different story but with the help of Jehovah God, He moved forward in victory to His final goal that God gave him, bringing many with Him.
Your back ground or lack of education of lack of opportunities does not make any different, when you know your God given purpose, and set your goals with God, and with burning desiring and a vision of yourself completing what God began in you not only will you reach your goal but you will help millions of others reach theirs to the glory of God.
So, I will finish of this article by asking you, what is your burning desire? what is your vision? and what is your goal? If your not to sure, or have not thought about it, then I encourage you to get quite with God and ask Him to help you, let me assure when you go to God and ask Him what it is He wants you to do and also give God your desires of what you want to do, God will help you see your purpose.
Then I would encourage you to write it down make It plain before your eyes, keep it in front of you. and watch what God will do for you. As you pursue God, He will give to you the desires of your heart. God will lead you and Guide you and provide for you, He will supply everything and more for you to accomplish your God given Goals and vision and desires, God is the source of all our supply in every area of life, God wants you to be successful, healthy, prosperous, and shining as lights.
God wants us to have the right mind set, and we are the ones to put on the mind of Christ, If you see yourself as failure then that will follow you, if you see your self successful and fulling your God given desires and dreams and goals that will follow you. what we believe in our hearts and say with our mouth we received.
