Keep things simple, Keep being thankful, Keeping Looking to God – By Laurence Torr

Keep things simple, Keep being thankful, Keep looking only to God.

God day to you and God bless you with His love grace and peace through Jesus Christ our wonderful Lord and Living saviour, soon returning King of kings and Lord of lords.

To think that the creator of the heavens and earths loves You so very much, do you know you are continually before Him and never out of His sight and always within His reach, He knows every hair upon your head and every thought that goes through your mind,  He Knows your beginning and He knows your end. It is so easy to lose sight of these truths when we are going through tough and challenging times.

God knows you better than you know yourself and He wants you to go to Him with all your cares with all your worries, with all your doubts, He wants you to cast all your burdens on Him. He wants you to throw your worries to Him and forget about them as He will take care of things for you if you only just give them to Him and leave them with Him.

Let us remind ourselves of what God says to us through the scriptures, remember there are thousands for benefits to us today as we do what God is showing us to do.

In the scriptures there are many wonderful promises to us and there are things we as believers need to do on our part. The biggest thing we can do is keep things simple, Keep thankful for what we have rather than complain about what we do not have, as we keep things simple we will cultivate a heart thankfulness and an attitude of gratitude.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. V6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Here we are encouraged to Trust in the Lord to Trust here means to be boldly confident and sure in Jehovah with all our hearts with everything that is within us we are to Trust God. and not rely on our understanding or our own wisdom.

in contrast to relying on our own wisdom God wants us to acknowledge or observe with care Him and then he will direct our paths this word Direct means God will make our paths prosperous and pleasant as we follow His wisdom.

So God is speaking strongly here in these verses by saying it like this

(my rendering)

Be boldly confident and sure with all that is in you, in God wisdom rather than your own wisdom observe with care God wisdom and He will prosper and make pleasant your path he wants you to take.

So remember God is with you and will direct your path as you stay trusting Him and acknowledging Him

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

God says to you here do not worry about anything, but rather in everything go to Him in prayer, tell Him what is on your mind and in your heart, give Him the cares and worries give Him your requests this is what the word supplication means Request, Request His Guidance, Request His provision, Request, deliverance and healing, whatever the need is give it all to Him and ask God for what you need, as you do this verse 7 tells you what will happen

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

The peace of God will come to your heart and mind because you have gone to God requesting and trusting Him, this peace brings quietness and rest to you and this peace means Guard and protect the peace of God will Guard and protect your mind from worries and fears.

God wants you to go to Him with everything, God who is our Father is concerned about the things you’re concerned about, He cares about every single detail of your life, our Father God is the Father of lights there is not darkness in Him, He is good always and He is for you and with you even if you have blown it and made the biggest mistakes in your life as a believer, He has paid a very high price for your life with the life of His son our wonderful Lord Jesus Christ, Jesus laid His life down so you can take your life up and live abundantly in the presence of our loving Father, who is God the creator of the Heavens and earth and all the universe and galaxy’s God thinks  about you He is crazy about you. wow lets think about that for a moment, even the Psalmist asked God about this

The Psalmist asked God this question

Psalm 8:3-4 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

thinking about the vastness that surrounded him the psalmist, he could have felt  insignificant, God can seem so far away from us but that is far from the truth and the reality of who we are in Christ, for it is God who is in Christ, who is in you, God is closer than breath itself  , where ever you are, He is there you are continually before Him.

Isaiah 49:16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

God has tattooed you upon the palms of His hands you are protected and before the face of God continually.

With this understanding we can certainly trust our wonderful Father God, He has our backs and fronts and sides He is guarding you, and His words guard our heart as we trust and do what He shows us to do. You are very important to God, He has a plan and purpose for your life, you are healed you are delivered , you have been made free from anything that tries to hold you down and keeps you from moving on.  Jesus Christ accomplished this great freedom for us and as we learn about our wonderful Father, and about His heart towards us, we can have great confidants and overcome anything, the psalmist had this great confidence and expectation on God when face with a Giant. the army of Israel became afraid at the words of the opposition, but what did Psalmist David says against the word of the opposing army?

1 Samuel 17:45-51

45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.

46 This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.

47 And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hands.

48 And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came, and drew nigh to meet David, that David hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.

49 And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.

50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.

51 Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled.

David was very confident in His God and was able to move forward to victory because he was not afraid because He knew His God would give Him the victory He used what he had and won because David knew that God would do the work all He had to do was act in the situation as God led Him.

When we begin to know our God and trust His every word, we  too will see great victories and great triumphs, David did not look at the size of his problem but at the size of His God. and when our mind is set is like this, we too will slay any giants in our lives.

so my friends be confident in God who is your Father, He is with you, trust Him rely on Him go to Him, cast all you cares to Him, you are continually before God, and He is with you and for you and as you trust Him he will deliver you in any situation.

Let God lead you, teach and direct you, let Him be your strength, no doing it on your own, turn to the living and true God today.

I will finish off with this wonder record in Psalms. if you are in  a dark place let God become your light trust Him and let Him go to work for you, to let God do the work for you is called grace which is His unmerited divine favour, and today it is God Grace that gives us the victory in Christ when we do not rely on our wisdom but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God, and It Is Written.

Psalm 18:28 -50

28 For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.

29 For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.

30 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.

31 For who is God save the Lord? or who is a rock save our God?

32 It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

33 He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon my high places.

34 He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

35 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.

36 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.

37 I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.

38 I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.

39 For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.

40 Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.

41 They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the Lord, but he answered them not.

42 Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.

43 Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me.

44 As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.

45 The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.

46 The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

47 It is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me.

48 He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

49 Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and sing praises unto thy name.

50 Great deliverance giveth he to his king; and sheweth mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.

Have a victorious week Looking to God who is your Father.

What Does It Mean to be Dismayed?

Strongs Number H2865חָתַת  châthath

A primitive root; properly to prostrate; hence to break down, either (literally) by violence, or (figuratively) by confusion and fear: – abolish, affright, be (make) afraid, amaze, beat down, discourage, (cause to) dismay, go down, scare, terrify.

To be dismayed is to be discouraged, a lot of times that discouragement comes  through fear, and confusion as we are faced with.  Life at times throws us a curved ball, one minute everything is going fine the next minute everything is going wrong, and we wonder what has hit us. This could happen to anyone and will at one time or other happen in an  individual’s life.

So what do we do when we are faced with a mountain in our way, or a great challenged, when the storms of  life have risen up against us is raging, when confusion has set about us?             The first thing any believer should do is go to God, and seek His help and direction, and decide not to quit or give in.

Often when believers are faced with a situation where they are dismayed they  decide to be weak rather than strong and trust God to see them through to deliverance. Believe me I have been through a few times in my life when things have been turned upside down, and I become afraid and confused as what went wrong and what to do to get things right again.

But as I trusted God, He saw me through so I came out strong and wiser and more matured.

There are many records in the Bible where believers found themselves where they were dismayed or could have become dismayed.

We will look at a few examples of the believers from the Bible times that went through these challenges and see how they overcame.

There is a wonderful record In the second book of Chronicles that we can learn from when a great problem arose for King Jehoshaphat when the armies of  the Moabites and Ammonites can wage war against Jehoshaphat. Let take the story up from verse one.

2 Chronicles 20:1-29King James Version (KJV)

v1 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.

Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi.

And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

Jehoshaphat got the bad news that these armies were coming against him, and a great army at that, the first thing Jehoshaphat done was set himself to seek God. This is lesson number that when we are faced with a problem or bad news instead of running in fear or away from the problem we take our problem and set our heart to seek God, then next great lesson here was Jehoshaphat, got the people involved to go to God.

And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the Lord: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.

When you faced with something that is coming against and when all seem lost or you fighting different problems go to God seek His heart and direction and then get other strong believers to pray along with you, God will show who you should ask to help you and pray with you.

Verse 5 – 13 Jehoshaphat prayers to God. In his prayer Jehoshaphat asks God questions,  and reminds God of the great things God had done in the past, and he also reminds God of the sanctuary that was built in His name and convent with Abraham and he reminded of the sayings of the believers that built about when evil comes upon then that when they stood be the sanctuary and in God presence and cry unto God in their affliction then God would hear them and help them lets read those verse 5 – 13

And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the new court,

And said, O Lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?

Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?

And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying,

If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.

10 And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;

11 Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.

12 O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.

13 And all Judah stood before the Lord, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.

from this prayer God answers Jehoshaphat, and the people from Jahaziel whom God worked in, to speak forth His answer.

14 Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the Lordin the midst of the congregation;

15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

God through the prophet encourage the people and Jehoshaphat to not be afraid nor dismayed God was telling them not to break down or to be scare or confused at what was going on because of the great multitude of the armies coming against them. and the reason they should not be afraid, when the circumstances was shouting to be afraid is because the battle was not theirs to fight but Gods.

This record is so wonderful, because we may not be faced with a great army, but whatever you are faced with we need to remember the battle is not our but God’s when we go to Him and seek him for what He would have us to do and follow His direction to us, that direction could come right to your heart, or through another believer speaking the direction and answer in to your life by the spirit of living God.

In verse 16 we see Gods direction that was give to Jehoshaphat and the people.

16 To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.

17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you.

We need to follow what God shows us to do, and we need to be still and know that God is God and nothing is too hard for Him we set our focus on Him follow His direction to us and then God goes to work on our behalf.

God continues to encourage the people not to be afraid to be discourage through fear God builds them up by with encouraging words and a reassurance that He was with them.

Verse  18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the Lord, worshipping the Lord.

He will see the humble heart of the King and the people we see this through their act of bowing down to worship God, having a humble heart when things come against is so important, instead of blaming God for what was happening, they were humble knowing and trusting that God would deliver them, many believer though give up and through because they are not recognising, that we are today in spiritual battle, there is fight going on we know the bigger picture that the main battle is won by Jesus Christ, but in the mean time we still have an enemy that is out to steal, kill and destroy and we as believers need to be on Guard and alert know where these attack come from.

The next big key is the believers here began to praise God.

19 And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice on high.

20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

King Jehoshaphat encourages the people to believe in the LORD your God, and that is what we all should encourage other to do when they are going through a tough time or times, as people begin to believe God then God can go to work through their faith in Him, next key is to believe Gods prophets those speaking by the spirit of God, if you listen and do what God is working the minister to say to you, you will prosper in other words you will have success in the situation you facing.

21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever.

22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.

23 For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.

24 And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped.

25 And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much.

26 And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the Lord: therefore the name of the same place was called, The valley of Berachah, unto this day.

27 Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in the forefront of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the Lord had made them to rejoice over their enemies.

28 And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets unto the house of the Lord.

29 And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the Lord fought against the enemies of Israel.

From verse 21 – 29 we see Jehoshaphat appointed singers unto Jehovah that they should praise the beauty of His holiness and it was as they praised the LORD that God went to work

The Lord set the ambush against the children of Ammon, Moab, mount Seir they were all defeat. So Jehoshaphat and the people did not have to fight God set them one against the other and the  Jehoshaphat and the people took all the precious jewels more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much.

So everyone was delivered and came through victoriously because they set their heart to seek God, they came together as one and in agreement,  and they done what God showed them to through His prophets and they all returned to Jerusalem with joy for God had made them rejoice over the enemies, and all the Kingdoms and countries had respect unto God when they heard what God had done for His children.

The times and the type of warfare is played out different in our day and times, we are in spiritual battle, we need to recognised that we have the victory when we walk in our new man nature trusting God with all our hearts and not giving up when things go against us. But we set our hearts to seek God for His direction and we take that direct with a humble and meek heart and God will not only cause you to win but He will give you good success in what you are doing for He is with.

Here are a few more Scriptures that will bless you and I hope thrill your heart like it thrills my heart, these wonderful records living and real and the principles are still the same today and will yield the same and greater results and we trust God and let Him work in our situations.

Now for those of you going through challenging times I pray this lifts you up and encourages you to continue to go to God, and not give up, God is faithful and with lift you up and out of anything problem or situation you are in.

For those of you that everything  is going hunky dory I praise the Lord with you and rejoice, this sharing maybe for future purposes so store it in your heart and be on guard,  guard your heart with all diligence, be alert and be sober because “your adversary” as a roaring walks about seeking whom he may devour.

  Isaiah 41:10King James Version (KJV)

10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Psalm 31:23-24King James Version (KJV)

23 O love the Lord, all ye his saints: for the Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.

24 Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.

1 Corinthians 15:57-58King James Version (KJV)

57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

1 Corinthians 16:13King James Version (KJV)

13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

Ephesians 6:10King James Version (KJV)

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

2 Timothy 2:1King James Version (KJV)

Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

God bless you have a great weekend and up and coming week

Embrace the Grace of God – By Laurence Torr

Embrace the Grace of God

God morning to you and grace to you and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith (believing) ; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Verse 9,  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Today I was thinking about the word Grace. in Ephesians 2:8 Paul shows us that we are save by grace through believing that not of yourself it is the gift of God and verse 9 tells us,   v 9, Not of works lest any man should boast.

Grace is God divine influence upon the heart

Grace is what God has done for us through Jesus Christ, there is nothing we could do to earn  grace which is God favour that we now experience and have in our lives. Grace is God unmerited divine favour to men. There is nothing we can do to earn this grace this wonderful favour of God to us, it received by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ and the work that he accomplished through His death burial and resurrection.  Jesus Christ done the work on our behalf, He was obedient to God and did not mess up in anyway. He fulfilled the law which no man could do He rescued us from sin and hell, and has given a life which is eternal and more than abundant.

Grace means that God does the work in our lives and through our lives as we trust him and let him lead us by His spirit, A lot times we try to do God’s work in our own  strength, we plan and organise events and meetings and classes and many other activities to reach out to the lost,  or to build up the body of Christ, it show great heart on the part of the believers that do this, but if it is from our own efforts it will not produce what God wants accomplished.

when we walk by the spirit of God listening to God and doing what He puts in our hearts to do, then God can accomplish great things through us, that is grace, it is God does the work we follow his lead by being obedient and listening to His still small voice.

Zechariah 4:6-7

6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD

unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of

7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and

he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.

when God’s grace is at work,  in our lives they will be no effort on our part we just follow what God shows us to do and God does the work. He will make any mountain or problem in front of you become a plain, God is the one that will level to the ground the mountain in front for you.

Some time we forget that God is the one that does the work, and we try and solve the problems in our lives by our own strength instead of waiting to hear from God what he wants us to do.

Grace is God divine influence upon our hearts in other words He leads us and guides us and provides for us.  Jesus said take my yoke upon you and learn of me for my yoke is easy and my burdens are light. Jesus never done anything in his own strength or effort He always done the Father’s will, He moved as God led Him, setting the example for us to follow in His footsteps.

There is a lot more to be said about the Grace of God, and maybe I will cover that further down the road but in the mean time here are some definition on the word grace. I encourage you to a do word study on Grace, look up the records in the bible where this word Grace is recorded, allow God to show you and open your hearts to this wonderful Grace we have in Christ Jesus.

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man drawback, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. – By Laurence Torr

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man drawback, my soul shall have
no pleasure in him.

Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man drawback, my soul shall have
no pleasure in him.

The Just shall live By faith (Believing) many believers stop in their tracks from doing what is right when things comes against them, when their circumstance change or things in their world get tough. Many draw back in fear in their walk with God and with others believers and give up or run the way of this world.

Have you been hurt by others?, is your circumstances tough? do you feel like giving up? are you discouraged in your walk? If this is you, then God wants you to know right now, you need to stop fearing and worrying, and start believing Him and trusting Him and put your expectation on Him.
If you are a born again believer filled with the spirit of the living God then you are Just and God says the Just, shall live by believing (faith) to live by believing is to literally take God at His word, and act upon that word, no matter what or who is coming against you.

God takes no pleasure in Us when we draw back, what is it to draw back basically it means to withdraw one’s self to be timid (fearful) to cover or shrink back in fear. To draw back describes a believer who through fear hesitates to declare openly who he or she is as believer to be the witness that God called them to be, and has stopped continuing in the truth through fear.

God is a faith God and God expects us to believe Him to believe His word to us, then He can go to work powerfully in our lives as we continue in the truth, applying it living it, and declaring it to others. when we practice the truths of God’s word and apply its principles, God will back His word up in our lives we will see the wonderful fruit His word to us can and will produce if we stay in faith (believing).

2 Corinthians 1:24 Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy:
for by faith ye stand.

If you are going to stand and be victorious then you need to believe God. You need to trust God’s word to you and act upon it, Ministers of the gospel have no authority of your faith but are helpers of your joy. Ministers should encourage you to believe God and go to Him, If you’re going to stand for God, then it is by believing that you will do so.

Anything we do that is not done by faith (believing) is sin (Romans 14:23) …..for whatsoever
is not of faith is sin. Sin, means to miss the mark.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a
sound mind.

Fear really is the believers enemy but God has not given us the spirit of fear, when we are
walking and being led by the spirit of God, fear will not be factor in our lives, we will be
walking in boldness and confidence having great trust in our God, we will see fruit and we
will be walking in victory no matter what comes against us we will be strong in the Lord and
in the power of His might we will be fellow shipping one with another with no divisions or
schisms within the body of believers, we will be advancing on the kingdom of darkness and
shining as lights in this world, we will be witness for the Lord Jesus Christ. being those
ambassador for God and Christ that we should be, we will be sharing our abundance so there
is no lack within the body of Christ. This is what true believing looks like from the scriptures,

Here is a record in the Bible that shows how the believers of the first century church grew in
unity and purpose, they had the same heart and love and they walked and lived in the Grace
of God, It show the heart of true believers looking to God following the examples of the
Leadership with respect towards one another and God was honoured by this and added many
more to the body of Christ as each individual move in faith and grace.

Acts 2:42-47Amplified Bible (AMP)
42 They were continually and faithfully devoting themselves to the instruction of the apostles, and to fellowship, to [a]eating meals together and to prayers.

43 A sense of awe was felt by [b]everyone, and many wonders and signs (attesting miracles) were taking place through the apostles.

44 And all those who had believed [in Jesus as Savior] [c]were together and had all things in common [considering their possessions to belong to the group as a whole].

45 And they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing the proceeds with all [the other believers], as anyone had need.

46 Day after day they met in the temple [area] continuing with one mind, and breaking bread in various private homes. They were eating their meals together with joy and generous hearts,

47 praising God continually, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord kept adding to their number daily those who were being saved.

none of these believers had they own agenda or own interest at heart, but their hearts had been turned back to the living and true God they were thankful they was not complaining or moaning about anything, they honoured God in more ways than one way. they faith was sky high, so to speak, because of their hearts of thankfulness and gratitude to the Lord, God was able to much through the apostles, and was able to add to the church. There was no room for fear or drawing back they were able to advance with the things God had prepared for them to do, and they continued in the faith with great devotion to God and one another.

I so encourage you today to turn your hearts to the living and true God do the things He puts into your hearts to do that is being led by the spirit of God, the other choice is to draw back in fear, and live in defeat. There is a enemy that is out to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10) he will put many things in your way, that is why we stay in faith we stay believing and trusting God above our negative circumstance. the devil will try and trick you through either the Pleasure of this world or pressures of this world. God does not want us to be ignorant of satans devices
2 Corinthians 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

and God does not want us to be ignorant of His word to us and what he expects of us as believers.
Have a blessed day consider these truth and measure yourself against these great truths from God wisdom and scripture, and adjust where you need to adjust and watch God do amazing things in and through your life.

Much love

Thoughts for today – Recognise The Season your living In

Recognise the season your living in

My Thoughts for this Day.

Everyone of us goes through different seasons in life, just like winter spring, summer or fall, in each season we dress appropriately. We need to recognise the season we are living in our walk with God. There are times when we are thriving and growing, making great impact into other people’s lives and in our own walk, there are time when everything seems to fall our way, wonderful open doors, increase in every area, there are seasons of quite times, there are season, of hard times, where it seem we have to fight and struggle to get anywhere.

When you look through the lives of God’s people in the scripture you see in the lives of the believers different situation these people went through, they had times of blessing, times of facing challenges, times of seeking God direction they had wilderness times. When we recognise the season we are living in we can be more prepared and dress appropriately so to speak. We can keep a humble and meek heart, we can remember that God is for us and never leaves nor forsakes us, that we have His favour, we have His strength, we have the spirit of the living God dwelling in our hearts, we have the faith of Jesus Christ, that we are joint heirs with Christ and we have direct access to God through believing.

What season are you living, some may feel isolated, some may be looking for direction in their walk with God for their lives, some may be praying and waiting for answers, some may be facing hard times or challenging circumstances. Some may be in the wilderness experience, where you feel all alone.

King David face many different seasons, He had times of great victory, like His  Victory over the giant Goliath, having great victory in battles, then there were seasons when He was on the run for his life, from King Saul, and Absalom his son, But David always turned His heart to God in every season God called David a man after his own heart.

What season are you in? know this that God is with you, in every season you go through, He wants you to continue to go to Him, seek Him in the good times, seek Him in the tough times, keep moving and keep believing. He will never let you down, as you stay faithful going to Him. you could be going through times of temptation, tempted to quit and give up. God has provide for us in every situation and as we stay the course and stay faithful God will give you the victory, just like He did for Joseph, for Moses for Joshua, for Abraham and Sarah, Just like He did for Jesus Christ.

If you are in a wilderness situation, where you feel on your own, it seems like your prayers are not being answers it seems nothing you do has an impact, just remember this is a time of strengthening your faith and trust in God, God says he will never leave nor forsake, when you come out of your season, you will be strengthened, mature established more in your faith towards God and in your action.

God wants your focus on Him, not anyone else in this world, through you  God is going to do mighty things, those that know their God shall be strong and do exploits, as you stay believing you will have a mighty impact, in your family in your work place, in your outreach, learn to recognise the season your living in prepare your heart in every situation to look only to God the source of your supply, the fountain of living waters. Remember also that under great pressure the greatest acts for God was accomplished as that person stay focused of God.

Remember it not by your might nor by your power but by the spirit of the living God. God was the one that delivered the children of Israel, God parted the sea, God closed the door of the Ark, God cause Armies to flee, God delivered, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego,  we have an unlimited God, and we have also great authority in Christ Jesus, when we stay believing who we are, we will have great victory, direction, deliverance, and great heart towards God. The seasons we go through help shape and strengthen us, But in each season God is with you and for you.

Philippians 4:13 AMP

13 I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]

so have a great day and God bless you

Use Your Spiritual Ability

grace love and truth logo

God bless you today, exceedingly abundantly, above all that you ask or think according to power that works in you, speaking in tongues is your operation of the gift that God gave to you when you were born again and the gift is holy spirit, which is power from high.

It is so easy to neglect speaking tongues in our personal life, But God would have you do it, as much as you can, in the times we live today all believers should be encouraged and reminded to speak in tongues much, this builds up that inner man of Christ in you, it is perfect prayer, we make intercession for others or needs within the body of Christ, it is also praise to God and magnifies God, and much more. let sow to the spirit and be led by the spirit of God, speaking tongues keeps you hot on the inside when it is cold on the outside.

Sowing and reaping is a law, it is more than just an agricultural principle. It is a principle and an established law set up by God our Father for all to apply it. when we sow to the flesh its harvest is death its unfruitful, what we sow to the spirit is life in abundances.

The world operates under the law of cause and effect. there is no way around it, every time we choose an action we also choose consequences of that action. So look at what you have been sowing and also what you have not been sowing and you will see why you are where you are and what you have.

Have a blessed day….

Galatians 6:6-18New International Version (NIV)
6 Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor.
7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.

8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction;whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

What Is Your Delight? – By Laurence Torr

What Is Your Delight?

God Morning to you, and may your hearts be filled expectations of good things from God…….

What is your delight? what do you look forward to the most when you wake up?

what is the first thing on your mind?, there are so many things this world has to offer us, so many things to distract our attention away from the Father,

negative and positive, some may dread the day they have a head of them work and busy schedule, meeting dead lines, or other situations going on in their lives or some may have a hobbies they like to do everyday.

But for others their delight is in the Lord, their first thoughts when they wake is to seek the Father face, to worship Him by speaking tongues, lifting up there day, wanting to know what God would have them do, who can they bless, who can they help, who can they serve and how can they be of a blessing by sharing the word with others, helping others who have need. How do you start your day? what is your delight?

King David was a man after God’s own heart, his delight was in God, here are some records from the Scriptures that captured the heart of someone who’s delight was in God, above all things.

We decide what we delight, we can choose to delight everyday when we wake and through out the day to delight in God. Notice in these first 3 verse as you read them David starts by saying ” I HAVE” and “I Will” He not only chose to delight in God but He done it to, it was not a mental accent thing, but he took action upon his thoughts

Psalms 119:14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.

Psalms 119:15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.

Psalms 119:16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

Psalms 119:30 I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.

Psalms 119:32 I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.

Psalms 119: 45 – 47 And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.
46 I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed. 47 And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved.

what we delight in and what we love is what we will do. what do you delight in?

Psalms 119:59 I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies.

That is a good place to start to think on your ways, if the direction your thinking is wrong change them and like David turn your feet unto God testimonies Gods word, God ways. and then we can follow the His direction by doing what David say and did in verse 60

Psalms 119:60 I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments.

here are are few more scriptures about delighting in God

Psalms 34:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Psalms 40:8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

Psalms 94:19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

Psalms 1: 1-6 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Have a blessed day delighting in God

So Mightily grew the word of God and Prevailed By Laurence Torr

So Mightily grew the Word of God Prevailed

Acts 19:20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

Gods grace to you, it is by Gods grace the word of God so mightily grew and prevailed. There was no methods applied for this to be achieved, there were no special classes that were run for this to happen.

It was by God grace (His favour) this happen, the hearts of the believers were turned to God seeking His heart with desire/

As the first century church desire from God and done what He was working in there hearts God was able to move, God was working with them. If we are going to see the word of God mightily prevail in our lives, our towns, our villages, our countries, Then we need to be strong in the grace of God with our eye single.

It is through the committed Men and women of God who rely on Gods grace that God goes to work, not effort from them but by the spirit of the living God.

2 Timothy 2:1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

There are many believers, but only a few committed faithful men and women that are humble and meek to God to seek His direction and are strong in His grace, they allow God to work, by being led by the spirit of God. By Going to God by praying for the labourers, by giving the instructions to the hungry ones that desire.

some of my thoughts for today

God of All Comfort – By Laurence Torr

God of All Comfort

grace love and truth logo

Our God is the God of all comfort, no matter what your facing, no matter what you been through, or going through, God loves you with a passion, and He is passionate about you. Just remember to keep your heart light, and turned to the Father of lights.

The Apostle Paul was bold to share what troubles he faced and went through to show the believers that no matter what that God is the one that comforts us and delivers us, when we are with troubles. Our God is the Father or all mercies and the God of all comfort

Here is the record in 2 Corinthians 1 Amplified Version of the Bible.

2 Corinthians 1Amplified Bible (AMP)

1 Paul, an apostle (special messenger, personally chosen representative) of Christ Jesus (the Messiah) by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,

To the church of God which is at Corinth, and to all the [a]saints (God’s people) throughout Achaia (southern Greece):

2 Grace to you and peace [inner calm and spiritual well-being] from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Blessed [gratefully praised and adored] be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts and encourages us in every trouble so that we will be able to comfort and encourage those who are in any kind of trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 5 For just as Christ’s sufferings are ours in abundance [as they overflow to His followers], so also our comfort [our reassurance, our encouragement, our consolation] is abundant through Christ [it is truly more than enough to endure what we must]. 6 But if we are troubled and distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; or if we are comforted and encouraged, it is for your comfort, which works [in you] when you patiently endure the same sufferings which we [b]experience. 7 And our [c]hope for you [our confident expectation of good for you] is firmly grounded [assured and unshaken], since we know that just as you share as partners in our sufferings, so also you share as partners in our comfort.

8 For we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about [d]our trouble in [the west coast province of] Asia [Minor], how we were utterly weighed down, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life [itself]. 9 Indeed, we felt within ourselves that we had received the sentence of death [and were convinced that we would die, but this happened] so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead. 10 He rescued us from so great a threat of death, and will continue to rescue us. On Him we have set our hope. And He will again rescue us [from danger and draw us near], 11 while you join in helping us by your prayers. Then thanks will be given by many persons on our behalf for the gracious gift [of deliverance] granted to us through the prayers of many [believers].

Paul’s Integrity
12 This is our [reason for] proud confidence: our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world [in general], and especially toward you, with pure motives and godly sincerity, not in human wisdom, but in the grace of God [that is, His gracious lovingkindness that leads people to Christ and spiritual maturity]. 13 For we write you nothing other than what you read and understand [there is no double meaning in what we say]. And I hope you will [accurately] understand [divine things] until the end; 14 just as you have [already] partially understood us, [and one day will recognize] that you can be proud of us just as we are of you, in the day of our Lord Jesus.

15 It was with this confidence that I planned at first to visit you, so that you might receive twice a token of grace; 16 that is, [I wanted] to visit you on my way to Macedonia, and [then] to come back to you [on my return] from Macedonia, and have you send me on my way to Judea. 17 So then, was I indecisive or capricious when I was [originally] planning this? Or the things I plan, do I plan [e]in a self-serving way like a worldly man, ready to say, “Yes, yes” and “No, no” [at the same time]? 18 But [as surely as] God is faithful and means what He says, our message to you is not “Yes” and “No” [at the same time]. 19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, by me, Silvanus, and Timothy, was not “Yes” and “No,” but has proved to be “Yes” in Him [true and faithful, the divine “Yes” affirming God’s promises]. 20 For as many as are the promises of God, in Christ they are [all answered] “Yes.” So through Him we say our “Amen” to the glory of God. 21 Now it is God who establishes and confirms us [in joint fellowship] with you in Christ, and who has anointed us [empowering us with the gifts of the Spirit]; 22 it is He who has also put His seal on us [that is, He has appropriated us and certified us as His] and has given us the [Holy] Spirit in our hearts as a pledge [like a security deposit to guarantee the fulfillment of His promise of eternal life].

23 But I call on God as my soul’s witness, that it was to spare you [pain and discouragement] that I did not come again to Corinth— 24 not that we rule [like dictators] over your faith, but rather we work with you for [the increase of] your joy; for in your faith you stand firm [in your strong conviction that Jesus of Nazareth—the Messiah—is the Son of God, through whom we obtain eternal salvation].
