Some Encouraging Words To Begin Your Week
If there is one verse of Scripture worth memorising and confessing and believing then this is it.
2 Corinthians 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
2Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
This is a wonderful promise of God, and God clearly assures us that he will provide for us and bless us.
Our wonderful heavenly Father has committed Himself to supply everything we need and that is a very comforting word from God specially during hard financial times.
Paul reflects on the pledge God made to Israel in the old testament. God said He would bring His people into their own land, take good care of them and bless them abundantly. an abundance of rain would water the earth at the proper season, Crops and livestock would grow. Work would succeed and supplies would last. Gods people would never borrow from other nations, the nations would borrow from them. These blessing would make it very clear to the nations that Israel’s god was God.
He promises had conditions
Deuteronomy 28:2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and
overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
God covenant included a loving agreement, He would bless His people if they remain loyal to Him and walk in his ways.
In 2 Corinthians 9:7 Paul write to the believers to give them a chance to fulfil their word and commitment to the Gospel in their giving that they had made and had not yet fulfilled. He remind them that this subject of “giving” runs throughout the old Testament into the New.
Paul gives four acts of wisdom in this record that allows God blessing to flow
First – Fulfill promises. Paul told the Corinthians to give as they decided one year ago. Likewise, we should follow through on any commitment we made to give.
Second – Delight in Giving. Paul did not merely want the Corinthian believers to give but to do it with joy, because giving with the wrong heart is not really giving God wants us to give out of a happy and cheerful heart.
Third – Believe God. Our God is not slack concerning His promises and our God is not Limited. The Limits of our bank accounts and/or economy do not limit the power of God. Our God is Able to make all grace abound toward You. so you may abound to every good work.
Fourth – Give to give NOT to get. Remember that God’s purpose in providing for us is that we would abound to every good work. God is Our supply He blesses us so we can be a source of blessing to others, Let us remain in the Grace of giving.
The true and main source of our supply is God, there are many avenues to which God will supply a persons need, are you one of those avenues? are you sowing into the Kingdom of God. I encourage you to day to begin, or start again, if you have stopped giving, remember when you give you are honouring God and supporting His work as well as His Gift ministers so they are free to live for God.
If you are a faithful giver I encourage you to encourage others to do the same share the blessing of giving and how God blesses you in ever area and that they too can abound to every good work.
Have a blessed day, week, Month and Year, you are Gods best xx
