Thoughts for Today – By Laurence Torr

Thoughts for Today
By Laurence Torr
Whatever you’re going through right now, God is with you and is for you, He will help you through your toughest times. As You turn your heart to God and go to God in prayer, and ask Him to help you, He will provide for you great comfort, He will bring peace to your heart, and still the storms in your life, despite your situation. He will provide you with the strength that you need and give you direction for your life, any fears you may be experiencing will begin to melt away.
No one on the face of this earth is immune to adversity. Everyone throughout their life at times will face challenging times and difficult situations, or grief and loss or sadness, or loneliness or uncertainty or trouble or distress, others find themselves with no direction or help. Whoever you are, believer or unbeliever if you are going through troubled waters in your life turn your heart to God right now, pray to Him, talk to Him give Him all your problems ask for His help and comfort and direction, if you do this right now, you will find peace begin to fill your heart, hope and expectation will begin to rise up in you. God will begin to fill you with an expectation of hope and a future. I want you to read the following verses of scripture below. This is God’s heart for you, see that God is for you and He is the one that will help no matter how big your problems are. No matter what it is you’re going through. Because God is a God of love, He is the God of all comfort, God is able to supply everything need you have to help you in your life.
All you need to do is go to Him and believe and expect from Him, then you will see things begin to change. There are no limits as to what God can do for you when you ask Him to help you. God wants you to stop trying to work things out on your own, for in your own ability you are limited. But God is an unlimited God there is nothing too hard for Him to do to help you. Help also implies that there is something you need to do, and as you do your part God will help you and rescue you.
2 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
4 Who comforteth us in all our trouble, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
God is a God of mercy, when things have got too much for you to handle and you’re at the point of giving up when you turn to God, He will help you and set you free from whatever your going through, God is able to take you out of the trouble you’re in, to the point you are able to help others and bring help to others.
Psalms 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
The word ‘refuge’ can also be shelter, God is your shelter in the storms of life and your strength He is present to help you, He is present to heal you, He is present to provide what you need, so you can come out of your troubles.
Isaiah 40:28 – 31 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Don’t you know? have you not heard that God is everlasting? God created the heavens and earth by the words of His mouth, God is not weak he does not faint and He does not get tired and He can empower and increase your strength, so you can win in your situation, God will help you, but you need to turn to Him with all your heart. If you go to Him right now He can and will renew your strength like the wings of eagles so you can rise way above your problems, you will gain height over your problems you will not be weary and faint again. You will be able to live your best life free from worry, fear, lack, poverty and sickness, don’t you want that for your life, freedom from fear?
Jeremiah 29:11-13 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
God’s thoughts about you personally are of peace and not of evil, God wants you to live full days with joy not sorrow, and God will give this to you when you go to Him, you can begin right now.
God says ‘call upon me, pray to me and I will listen to you’, God says ‘seek me and you will find me’, search for Him with all your heart. You will absolutely find Him. I am a witness of God’s goodness every time I have turned to God and sought after Him, He has helped me, He has delivered me, He has provided for me, this is why I am encouraging you right now, God is real and He is for you. He will turn your life around, He will answers your prayers He will heal you and help you. For those who are reading this, if you have not experienced the power of God in your life, you can right now, do not wait a moment longer.
God sent His son Jesus Christ, who made it available for you to have a direct connection and access to God, Just like Jesus Christ had when he walked this earth, and Jesus Christ is not dead, He is now seated next to God at God’s right hand, Jesus Christ is alive right now by the power of God. Right now you can be set free, this is real it is not religion or a game God is for you. that is why He sent His son Jesus Christ.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
God loves the people in this world, God wants all men to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth. The truth is that He is for you, that He loves you, that He will help, That you can have a great life now. God does not want you to go through life defeated, sick, or problem after problem, with no help. He is not the cause of the bad things in this world, God is light and in Him is no darkness at all, Satan is the one that causes all these bad things in this world. But right now my focus is on what God has made available for you today and for the rest of your life.
God wants you well and to have a great life, and it is available, by believing on His son Jesus Christ, God is not condemning you, but has made a way for you to have a relationship with Him through believing on Jesus Christ.
Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
This is how you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour if you say with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, the scriptures says here you shall absolutely be saved.
If you believe this then say it with your mouth, believe it with all your heart, and as you do God will fill you with his His holy spirit, you will receive the gift of eternal life.
You have to make that choice alone with God. It is through your freewill choice and decision to make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, and when you do that God can and will mightily go to work in your life. If you want to know your have eternal life and as the world says that your going to heaven. Then this is the way you will know you have eternal life, by saying Jesus is the Lord of your life and believing with all your heart God raised Him from dead.
Jesus Said this
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
There is only one way to God, that way is through believing on the Lord Jesus Christ and making Him the Lord of your life.
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Matthew 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Jesus also said if you are weary if you are troubled come to me, if your labouring hard in this life, if you are burden down with the cares and problems of this world. The invite is to you, to make Jesus Christ your Lord, what he gives to you to do in this life is light and not heavy and you will find rest in your heart and your mind. He will put nothing heavy upon you, You will be able to more than just cope in this life. God is the God of peace and Jesus Christ is the prince of peace, if you want peace in your mind and heart then this is where true lasting peace comes from.
John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
Jesus told His disciples here ‘not to let their hearts be troubled but believe in God and also Believe also on Him’.
Philippians 4:6 Be careful (anxious) for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
God does not want you to be anxious about anything, but God wants you to go to Him in prayer He wants you tell Him all your problems and then not to think about them, because once you have given your cares your worries your problems to Him then He will then take care of them. And as you give your problems away to God and trusting Him to meet your needs you will begin to enjoy the peace of God in your heart.
I will finish off here with a wonderful record that will show that Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly in every area of life.
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
The thief is Satan, the Bible also says in 2 Corinthians  4:4  ‘This thief is the god of this world, this thief comes only to steal from your life, to kill the joy,& strength from your life and to destroy eternally, this thief can only steal from you, if you believe his lies. Like that there is no God there is no Jesus, he puts the pleasures of this world in front of your face, to distract you from really knowing that the true God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is living and real, Satan is the one that brings sickness, death, defeat, wars, divisions, hatred.
Jesus Christ exposed who Satan is, and revealed unto you and me the Heart of the true God the creator of the heavens and earth that He is a God of love, and is a God who can give you the best life right now and the one to come. You can have this life by receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, and you can receive all the great things God has available for you today.
The Choice is yours and yours alone to make. God wants you to choose life, and you do this by confessing Jesus as your Lord and believing with all your heart that God has raised Him from the dead.
If you have made Jesus Christ the Lord of your Saviour, I encourage you to find a strong believer that can help you and encourage you in your new life and journey with God.

Prosperity Without God is Not True Prosperity – Written Article – By Laurence Torr

Prosperity Without God is Not True Prosperity By Laurence Torr My Thoughts  About Prosperity and What the Scriptures Say.
It is truly available for everyone to prosper, if you want to prosper in every area of your life for a believer we first have to prosper in our hearts, (3John 2)that we are rich in the knowledge and wisdom of God’s word. For a believer, true prosperity begins in the heart and becomes a part of who we are to the point Gods word is living and real for us in our action and speech. True riches is to be rich in your fellowship with God and His Son Jesus Christ and with those of the same Heart This where our Joy is fulfilled, 1John 1:3-4
There are many people in this world that do not believe in God and are financially prosperous, They may have come from poor background and wanted a better life like everyone wants and were determine to make it in this world. A lot of people made it and found success and lot of them made it only to lose what they had made, some are born in to wealthy and rich families and follow on in the family business and some become rich through an inheritance left to them.
The world uses many motivation teachers and speakers and apply the positive attitudes and speaking method, and a go get attitude and these motivational speakers use Godly principles without God. God is not first in their mindset.  The Image they build for people is to see themselves prosperous, to speak positively, to be active and intentional, all the things but without God.
There are some that follow and do what they have been encouraged by the worldly motivator and become successful or improve their lives in one way or another. But what is the end results for them if God is not in their lives.
The True prosperity which has a lasting value in this world and the one to come is when a person has God the first love of their lives, they are prosperous with an abundance of the wisdom and revelation of the knowledge of God’s word built into and imprinted on their hearts, overflowing into their living and speech. A believer with the right heart and mind set, does not labour to be rich in this world, but are rich in the word and spirit, full of good works, and their heart and life  are devoted to God first.
When a believer is chasing after God, seeking Gods heart first and His Kingdom and His wisdom and listens to the voice of God so He can do what God is showing, then the blessings of God will chase him down and overtake him, they will be blessed when they lay down, when they rise up, when they come in and when they go out, they will be blessed in the field, blessed in the city, blessed in the bank, and in there store houses, their savings, they will be blessed in the fruit of their bodies their enemies will flee from them, they will become the head and not the tail they will blessed so they can be a blessing, The blessing of the Lord makes rich and He adds no sorrow with it. Deuteronomy 28:1-14 and Proverbs 10:22
Many of the rich people in this world without God are not happy, they may have the nice and finer things in life, that may take their minds of their problems temporary, But the true wealth is the peace of God in your heart, having a direction in this life and hope of the gathering together where we will spend eternity with God and Lord Jesus Christ.
The things in this world are temporal and riches in this world are uncertain
2 Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
The Apostle Paul encourages Timothy to Charge  those that were Rich in this world.  lets us read this record.
1 Timothy 6:17-19 Charge them that are rich (having an abundance of external riches)  in this world, that they be not high minded, (arrogant)  nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; (free in giving, liberal)
19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
Now let us go back and read 1 Timothy 6 starting from 6 -19
1 Timothy 6:6-19  But godliness with contentment is great gain.
For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;
14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
The true prosperity is having God the first love in our lives, being thankful and content with the things that we have, if we have an abundance then we should be willing to share and help others, and doing good works showing our faith and love. God has instructions for those that are rich in this world which is recorded here in 1 Timothy so that those that are rich, keep the right heart and thier perspective right in this life and their hearts clean.
There is absolutely nothing wrong in being rich in this world, when our hearts are in the right place and that God is first, and the wisdom of God is followed than we can truly be prosperous in every area of living.
Psalms 35:27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
Psalms 35:28 And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.
I can remember someone saying once there are two types of rich people in this world, those that have loads of  money and those that have no need.
Money cannot make you whole spiritually, mentally or physically, yes you can pay a Psychiatrist, they may help little, yes you can pay hospitals they can help you temporary, you can even pay to go and see a spiritualist, but it is the wrong spiritual advise your getting with bad consequences the resulting outcome.
But God has meet every need for those that will believe Him and His word to them. Every need is meet spiritually, mentally and physically, when we were born again we were made whole in every department, what you need God can and will meet it when you go to Him, and it does not cost you a penny, because God has freely given us all thing to richly enjoy, He has given us His love His peace, His direction, His Knowledge, His wisdom, His understanding and  His insight into life and living, God is the one also that gives us power to get wealth and that is through the wisdom of His word to us.  We have the gift of eternal life, we are filled with His spirit, we have authority over sickness and all manner of diseases, we have an abundant of Gods resources that never run out or dry.
Prosperity starts in the heart and then becomes manifest as we live our lives unto God applying His spiritual laws, wisdom and principles, as we build our hearts and confess God words, and we keep our eyes fixed on Him and The Lord Jesus Christ.
To Finish this article, I will leave you some more scriptures to meditation on  Showing That when God is First and when our hearts are for Him above all else than God truly blesses our live in every area abundantly God will prosper You.
Psalms 1:1  Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
Psalms 1:2  But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Psalms 1:3  And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psalms 1:4  The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
Psalms 1:5  Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
Psalms 1:6  For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Psalms 37:11  But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
1 Kings 3:1-14  And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh’s daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the Lord, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.
Only the people sacrificed in high places, because there was no house built unto the name of the Lord, until those days.
And Solomon loved the Lord, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places.
And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.
In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.
And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
And now, O Lord my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.
And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.
Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?
10 And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.
11 And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;
12 Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.
13 And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.
14 And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.
Job 36:10  He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
Job 36:11  If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
Proverbs 1:29  For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
Proverbs 1:30  They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
Proverbs 1:31  Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
Proverbs 1:32  For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
Proverbs 1:33  But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.
Joshua 1:7  Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
Joshua 1:8  This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Joshua 1:9  Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Ecclesiastes 2:26  For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail (labour), to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.
2 Chronicles 31:20  And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the LORD his God.
2 Chronicles 31:21  And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.
Proverbs 3:13  Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
Proverbs 3:14  For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
Proverbs 3:15  She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

Reigning and Ruling – Our From Seated Position in Christ – By Laurence Torr

Reigning and Ruling – From Our Seated Position in Christ – By Laurence Torr

As believers, we need to always beware that we are seated with Christ in heavenly places and that the devil is a defeated foe under our feet. No method or device that the enemy uses against us can prevail when we understand what Christ has accomplished for us and who we are and the authority we have been given to use. Gone are the days where we bow to defeat and to the pressures that are thrown at us. We are more than conquerors through and in Christ. It is time to use your authority from your seated in position in Christ.

What is godliness By Kim Torr

What is godliness

NO higher compliment can be paid to a believer than to call him or her a godly person. He or she might be a conscientious parent, a zealous church worker, a dynamic spokesman for Christ, or a talented leader; but none of these things matters if, at the same time, he or she is not a godly person.
The words godly and godliness actually appear only a few times in the New Testament; yet the entire Bible is a book on godliness. And when those words do appear they are with meaning and instruction for us.

Our PowerFilled Life in Christ – By Laurence Torr

Our PowerFilled Life In Christ

The Bible makes known to us God’s ways and thoughts and the truths concerning His son Jesus Christ. If we want to know about God and our new power filled life in Christ then the Scriptures are our foundation of truth and life and living.

We as Born again believers are extraordinary people, not because of anything that is of us, but from the spirit of God that we received when we confessed and made Jesus Christ  Our Lord.

Knowledge alone is not enough, it is a practical application of the word in lives and to begin to apply the truths of who we are in Christ. and begin to walk by the spirit and being led by the spirit of God.
