Most Saturdays, I usually meet up with believers to have a coffee, and reflex back on the week just gone bye, then take a walk around the shops, doing something called window shopping, and we usually bump into to people we know, stop for a talk, and there is always an open door to encourage someone. This Saturday just gone, I was inspired to go somewhere completely different, I wanted to go for a long drive, God always inspires me and Kim as we drive off to where ever we are going and our topic of conversation is always what God is working in our hearts and showing us individually.
So, I did not know the place where we were going to drive too, Kim came up with a place to go to called Burton-on-the water. So, I said to Kim OK let us go there, somewhere completely different from normal routine.
Burton-on-the-water is a village in the rural Cotswold area of south-central England It is well known for its low bridges and traditional stone houses. So we set about our 1 hour trip to this beautiful little village, as we drove we spoke about the many great things that God had done in our lives and is still doing and we spoke about our desires and what God is showing us personally, it was such great inspiring fellowship, away from our own environment, driving through the country lanes looking at the beautiful country side we are blessed to be surrounded with.
Well by the time we reach Burton-on-the-water I was bursting to go to the toilet (restroom) there was a sign pointing in the direction to where the toilets (restroom) but I could not find it, then I saw a Christian book shop, with had a cafeteria and I went in there and asked if I could use the Toilet (restroom).
I thanked them for allowing to us the restroom and I proceeded to the book section of the shop, there was a man sat at the till and as I was browsing at the books and it came strongly to my mind to talk with the man, who was sat at the till.
We got into a great conversation about God, this man uses to be a satanist but got born again and is now a believer. God put in my heart to ask Him if he spoke in tongues to which he replied he did but did not know if he was doing it correctly as he had heard counterfeit tongues before and so he stopped speaking in tongues because he was not sure if it was counterfeit or not, God brought to my mind records on 1 Corinthians 12-14 and I proceeded to explain what God said, and also shared many testimonies of the power of God and many healing’s and deliverance’s I have witnessed and been a part of, this man, with an open mouth, said to me you do not know what I have been praying to God and you have answered all my questions this guy was so blessed, I knew right there and then that it was no mistake that God had worked in Kim’s heart to come to Burton on the waters, I must of spent an hour talking to this man, in the mean time while Kim did not know where I had gone, but patiently waiting in the car, she said to me when I returned to the car, God must of opened a door for you to share with someone so I carried on with my knitting. Kim knows my manner and if there is open door to speak forth God’s word with someone, I will speak no matter how long it takes.
I promised the man I would go back to him before we left the area to give him my website and contact details, which I did and he was so very blessed.
We also had a great day looking around the area and we visited a small car museum there, ending our day with fish and chips and blessed hearts knowing we were able to be a blessing to someone life. It reminded me there are so many believers in this world that do not know fully the power of God, but when someone desires to learn and know, God will send forth His labourers into those area’s of interest concern and need, in truth, the whole world is of interest concern and has need.
Kim and I knew this was the real reason behind the desire to visit this area, God had a plan and purpose for us that day to meet the needs of man that desired to know more and can now speak in tongues without the thoughts that his tongues maybe counterfeit.
It reminded me of record in the book of Acts
Acts 8:24-40
26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,
28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.
29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.
34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?
35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
40 But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.
God will put you before those that desire to know with all their heart the truth that will set them free, He will either bring them to you or you to them. Then all we have to do is open our mouth and begin, God will inspire you what to say and he will also bring to your mind many scriptures so you can explain them and open them up to people that desire to understand them.
The great thing is that God opened the door for Philip and all Philip had to do was open his mouth and declare what God put in it, God knows where the hungry hearts are and those that desire to know, those that are sat in darkness and in the shadow of death.
We have the greatest privilege to hold forth the words of life and bring God’s deliverance and answers to those that desire and want to know and come out of bondage. When we know the truth in an area we never have to hungry there again.
Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
God is at work in you mightily, when our hearts are fixed to live unto God and when God is first, he will send you forth to be lights to others so that they may be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth.
I Timothy 2:4 Who (GOD) will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
God’s desire is that all men to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth, and we are the ones to speak forth God truths to them.
2 Corinthians 5:19 – To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Jesus Christ used His ministry to reconcile people back to God, Now we having received the spirit of God and we have Christ in us the hope of Glory
Have the same privilege to speak forth the words of reconciliation and connect people to God. Just as God was reconciling the world through Christ,
Know that God is reconciling the world through you when you decide to go through those God opened doors and open your mouth boldly to speak His word and words.
