What You Think about Yourself has an Impact on Your Life
By Laurence Torr
Who and what you listen too, will certainly impact you in one way or another.
From the Time we were born, and up until this present time, the things we have learnt and been taught, the things we have experience and gone through have helped build an imagine in us and our perception of life.
The people who have been in our lives and the people that are in our lives right now and their influences and the things that people have said or are saying either negative or positive has all played apart and helped build an image of who we think we are, which has set us on course of action either to succeed or to fail to either enjoy our lives or not to enjoy our lives.
What you have heard and have paid attention too and focused on and what you think about yourself and say about your self is either maintaining the image of how you see yourself or changing the image of how you see yourself.
God does not want any of His people to hold to negative imagines we have picked up through the Journey of our lives.  Now As born again sons and daughters of the most high God with the power of God in Christ in us, and the truths of who we are now in Christ we can begin to build the true imagine of who we are in Christ, and How God see you right now. We can demolish the image that has been learnt from this world systems.
Being brought up myself in a very negative environment of drink and drugs and violence at times, seeing my mother hit about by my step dad, seeing lack and need and poverty, certainly gave me a different perspective on life to how people that lived normal lives, My mum was a hippy, and we lived in a squat, the people that surrounded us, were pot smoking hippies, heroin addicts, and drug dealers. The police were always showing up, the house we overtook, was four stories high, and all the people living there were hippies, all this was completely normal to me, anyone else who was living a normal life we would call posh, and the attitude was they think they are better than us. The Attitudes that I learnt were certainly the wrong ones, which would not help me or those that had them one bit.
From the age of 11 we moved from London to Bristol away from the drug scene but my mum and step father became alcoholics violence between them continue, and I use to skip school, until I was taken to a boarding school some 60 miles away, where my life began to change, I got born again around the age of 15 after I got kicked out of the boarding school, went to church, but still carried the roughness of my young pass with me. Years later I took a foundation Bible class which change my life, but still lots of the things of the pass clung to me, But as I started to learn more about God and who I was in Christ, the image of who I was began to change, and at times the old image and thoughts of the past would come back to my mind, but that became less and less as I started to believe Gods word to me and who I am now, today I am changed and still changing and growing in Christ, all by the wonderful grace of God. God provided the way out of the old life, through what Christ accomplished but I had to build the imagine of the word in my heart, and act accordingly sometime perfectly and sometimes not so perfectly.
Learning the Truths of faith and confession, I now understand that when we come into agreement with God’s word and start saying what God says about us, rather than basing my thoughts on who I was and what others had said about me that power is released into my life and now I live my best life before God.  I know I am successful, I know I am of value to God and others, I know I blessed, I know I am what Gods say I am, and day by day I am growing and the image of who I am in Christ is the dominate truths in my life rather than that old miserable life. I came from thinking negatively and to thinking Gods thought and I gone from talking negatively and confessing and saying what God say, this is a daily practise in my life and I am so thankful I am growing stronger and stronger every day no longing giving in to the thought of failure, of no direction, of lack or poverty or sickness or defeat, for without a doubt, I am more than conqueror, I am abounding in His blessing, in God’s knowledge and wisdom, understanding and insight, I am God inside minded with His insight.
The Key thing is when we receive the knowledge of the truth and Gods wisdom, we must not only hear the truth we must become doers of the truth, it is not enough just to hear the word of God we must build the word into our hearts so it is established, and we do that through meditating on Gods word and by our confession of the Word. By Getting Gods word into our hearts we can begin to see ourselves how God see us right now and not as your see yourself in the past.
How does God see You
1 John 3:2 Beloved, Now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
Right now we are Gods sons. that is how God sees you, do you see and believe you are Gods sons?
Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Romans 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We are more than conquerors and nothing can separate us from the love of God. God in Christ has done the fighting for Us, we do not have to go through every single battle that comes up. we do our part and trust God  and believewhat God has said.
James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
James 1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
James 1:24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
By Being a doer of the word, we establish Gods word in our lives, not only do we hold the truth but the truth holds us. we begin to establish Gods of image of who we truly are right now.
Someone who is not a doer of God Word, for them when negative circumstances come up in their life, they do not know what is going on and why the negatives are happening to them. The reason is they have forgotten who they are and what the word of God says about them.
We retain Gods word in our hearts, and build the image of who we are by doing it and confessing it. we have to remember it takes time to establish the image of God’s word in our heart, it takes daily faithfulness, and through practising the word the imagine begins to get establish.
When we receive Gods word act on it right away and begin to apply it then you will not forget.
See yourself as Gods see you, then you will begin to see others in the same light.
Romans 8:12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
We owe nothing to our old way of life who we were and we own nothing to live after the flesh.
2 Corinthians 10:2 But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
2 Corinthians 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2 Corinthians 10:6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
Our part is to cast down imaginations and every high thing that comes against the knowledge of God. we cast down those imaginations that puts the wrong image in our hearts.
You are not poor and defeat, You are not worthless or powerless, you are not without or down trodden or without good breaks in life, these are lies from the god of this world this is the image satan would us to believe about ourselves, but Gods wisdom say you cast that down and away from you.
It is not God’s heart for His people to go through life miserable, poor, and lacking, when He has provide everything for us to live victoriously. The real imagine of who you are now thatt your born again is in stark contrast to what the imagine the world has put into us.
Lets us look at the image God wants us to have of ourselves.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
we have been given a new heart, all things change when we become born again and we must build this new heart with the truths of who we are now in Christ the old things the things of our past has died it has gone, behold all things are new baby!
We are longer sinners, lost and defeated with no direction in life with no power, or ability, we have been empowered with  power from on high we are now completely, completely complete in Christ, we have been given all things richly enjoy right now.
We have been saved by God wonderful grace and you are right now the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. we have been given the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him. Our eyes have been enlighten and woken up to greatness of the love of God in Christ, and truths that we really are the children of God sons and daughter filled with the power of God. we have a new heart a new mind and new outlook on life and living.
Now we can see ourselves in a different light, we see ourselves in the light of the glorious gospel of Christ.
Your are Heirs of God and Joint Heirs with Christ.
Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
You are the Righteousness of God, in Christ You as righteous as God
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
You are Delivered From the power of darkness
Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
You are redeemed from the curse of Law
Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
You were Healed
1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
You are raised up above this world and seated with Christ. and forgiven all sins
Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus
Colossians 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses
You are Justified
You Are Righteous
You Are Sanctified
You are Redeemed
You are made perfect
You are Accepted
You are Forgiven
So you were Crucified with Christ, Buried with Christ, Raised up together with Christ, Ascended with Christ. seated with Christ, You have an inheritance, you are citizens of heaven belonging to the household of God you are save by Gods grace, you are filled with power, this is who you are in Christ, this is the imagine God wants you to have living in your hearts and coming out of your mouths.                  Laurence x
