Thoughts For Today

If we are truly going to move with God, we have to be Sold out to Him.

The Word Servant in Bible comes from the Greek Word Doulos which means “Bond Servant”

Thayers renders this word as devoted to another to the disregard of one’s own interests or metaphorically, one who gives himself up to another’s will those whose service is used by Christ in extending and advancing his cause among men.

In our Standing before God, We are always sons, it is in our service we bond ourselves to the master to carry out His orders to further His cause, not ours.

Jesus Christ said this beautifully in the Garden of Gethsemane the night he was betrayed.

Luke 22:42  Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

Jesus Christ never had his own agenda, but He heard from His Father and carried out what the Father showed Him to do.

It was the Same with all the prophets of old, God gave the direction they carried out His direction, It was the same with the Apostles.

Interestingly The Word Apostle, and its definition show the same heart, as a bond servant, An Apostle is a delegate, messenger, one sent forth with orders from the one that sent Him, they also never had their own agenda. It was God’s will they were carrying Out.

We see clearly in the Scriptures, that those that moved with God and for God, Heard from God. This is how they moved both in the old Testament and New. This set the standards of how we move today.

The ways in which God communicated varied, A voice or angel, phenomenon like a burning bush or writing on the wall.

God sets the direction through Christ, In the book of Revelations which was the revelation given to Jesus Christ, not John, we see the pattern and order.

Revelations 1:1, The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants (Doulos) things which must shortly come to pass; and he (Jesus Christ) sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant (Doulos) John

God gave the Revelation to Jesus Christ for him to show unto his servants. so God gave to Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ gave to John via an angel.

John then proceeded to write this Revelation down. I do not believe for one minute John decide He was going to write a letter to build up the faith of the believers and give them direction and them moving do you? It was as God gave the Revelation, and God is still speaking today Through the scriptures through the spirit of God. We can see that God is one that gives us the direction, in our sphere of influence, He is the one that opens of the doors. When we go to God with all our heart, and seek His direction God will speak He is big enough to communicate to us.

When was the last time, you went into your closet, shut the doors on the outside world, so you could hear from God?

It is so easy for us to organise events, classes, and seminars, and get together’s, and these thing are good and right when God has truly give us, the direction for them, and when He has there will be great fruit and increase. Lets remember God gives the direction not us, It comes through our prayer and desire to do the will of the Father. Let us truly seek God with all our hearts, May we set aside our own idea’s of how the Word of God is going to move and increase, that is Gods job and Let us be humble and seek God’s direction and meek to move with God as works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.

Philippians 2:13  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Philippians 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

Philippians 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Philippians 2:16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

These are some of my thought from meditating on the truths of His word and seeking His direction.

May God bless You as you seek Him to do what He wants you to do.

much love

Laurence

  1. Thank you Laurence. I believe the time we spend in quiet prayer with God brings that knowledge that you actually know you are in His presence and you actually believe He has you etched in the palm of His hand and knows every hair on your head.xxxxx
