What Is Your Delight?

God Morning to you, and may your hearts be filled expectations of good things from God…….

What is your delight? what do you look forward to the most when you wake up?

what is the first thing on your mind?, there are so many things this world has to offer us, so many things to distract our attention away from the Father,

negative and positive, some may dread the day they have a head of them work and busy schedule, meeting dead lines, or other situations going on in their lives or some may have a hobbies they like to do everyday.

But for others their delight is in the Lord, their first thoughts when they wake is to seek the Father face, to worship Him by speaking tongues, lifting up there day, wanting to know what God would have them do, who can they bless, who can they help, who can they serve and how can they be of a blessing by sharing the word with others, helping others who have need. How do you start your day? what is your delight?

King David was a man after God’s own heart, his delight was in God, here are some records from the Scriptures that captured the heart of someone who’s delight was in God, above all things.

We decide what we delight, we can choose to delight everyday when we wake and through out the day to delight in God. Notice in these first 3 verse as you read them David starts by saying ” I HAVE” and “I Will” He not only chose to delight in God but He done it to, it was not a mental accent thing, but he took action upon his thoughts

Psalms 119:14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.

Psalms 119:15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.

Psalms 119:16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

Psalms 119:30 I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.

Psalms 119:32 I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.

Psalms 119: 45 – 47 And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.
46 I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed. 47 And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved.

what we delight in and what we love is what we will do. what do you delight in?

Psalms 119:59 I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies.

That is a good place to start to think on your ways, if the direction your thinking is wrong change them and like David turn your feet unto God testimonies Gods word, God ways. and then we can follow the His direction by doing what David say and did in verse 60

Psalms 119:60 I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments.

here are are few more scriptures about delighting in God

Psalms 34:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Psalms 40:8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

Psalms 94:19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

Psalms 1: 1-6 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
