Thoughts For Today – God’s way – By Laurence Torr
God bless You in the name of Jesus Christ,
Today we begin the new month of May 2019 and time is going fast this year.
April was a wonderful month, France being the highlight for me personally, meeting many people we had not seen in years, a wonderful time of refreshing, vision and direction from God, through the great fellowship and encouragement shared by God’s wonderful people and through personal time spent with different individuals.
Seeing the desires God put into my heart come to pass was a great blessing and built my faith and confidence greatly. There was no way I could of made this happen with my own effort or wisdom.
The desire God put in my heart was to meet in France with the people we fellowship with on skype. As the people on our skype meeting are from different countries and areas. Skype is a wonderful resource to use to connect with people, but it can never replace the face to face fellowship.
Anyway at that time I did not know where in France we would do this, I shared my desire with the believer’s on our skype fellowship, my God given desire for us to meet face to face and that night it happened that Franck Jouvellier a wonderful French believer Joined our skype fellowship, after mentioning that we all should get together, Franck said I would like to do it in France, so this thrilled my heart, Franck did not know France was where God put in my heart to meet. So right their God met that need and confirmed to me I was moving in the right direction and that this is what God wanted us to do. I also did not know Franck had prayed to God for 3 years that He would like to host believers in his home. So, God also answered and met the need in Franck’s heart. The desire came from God, He gives us His desire as we seek Him for our direction in life, and what He would have us to do.
This also shows us that praying with a real desire to God, that what may seem impossible to us, God can make possible. As we keep God, the first love of our lives, and go to Him with those desires, Then God will certainly answer us and bring it to past. God is the one that is leading and directing. We all have desires, but it is the godly desires, God places in our heart, that if we go to Him he will give us the wisdom and direction and Provision and He will bring it to pass.
With a Knowing this meeting was God inspired and directed, there really was no effort from my part as God supplied every need for me and everyone on many levels for His people to be together, and not only together in person but also in heart having the same mind and love for God and each other, and the desire to see God’s word move all over the world.
As we are humble to do what God is putting into our hearts not fearing what others my think about us or say about us, God is able to get us to the place we need to be so He can bring His desires for our life to past.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
We are God’s masterpiece and God has great work before ordain that we should walk in, and we will not do this work through our own ability of strength or effort, but step by step God gives us the desire, and the direction, and the provision to get what ever it is He is giving us to do so it can be accomplished.
We may have our own ideas of how to do God’s works, but God has something that He wants you to personally do, that is the work we are to do, it is not my own idea of how to move Gods word. God has the masterplan when we stop using our own idea’s and methods, God will go to work and show us what to do
Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
When we think of the records in the Scripture, and look at the lives of God people, not one of them came up with their own Idea’s. Moses did not decide on his own that he was going to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt. Abraham did not decide He was going to be the Father of many Nation, Noah did not decide to build the ark for God, Joshua did not decide he was going to take over from Moses, Joseph did not decide he was going to be at pharaohs right hand, The Apostle Paul did not decide, he was going to bring the new revelation of the mystery don’t forget he persecuted the church and wasted it, John didn’t decide He was going to receive Revelation about the end times. But God put the desires in there hearts and in front of them, and encouraged them, He gave them the works He wanted them to do and when they responded to God, and moved at God direction, God was able to do His works by them. Every great work we see in the scriptures were directed by God.
Zechariah 4:6-7 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
V7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
It is not by our might or wisdom or knowledge or strength or power that God’s will can be accomplished, but it is by the spirit God. God is the one at work.
When Moses tried to do things in His own strength it led him to 40 years in the wilderness, When Abraham and Sarah tried to do things in their own strength it produced Ishmael.
God is the one that gives us His works to do, God does not need our help in the sense we sit down and try to figure out the best way to move forward.
As we cease from our own work and effort and pray to the Lord and seek Him, Then He will give to you what you need to do, He will direct your heart and path He will open doors no man can shut, He will send to you the Labourer’s He will increase you and prosper you this is the Fathers heart for you, He wants to be the first love of your life. He wants you to seek Him with all your heart.
God shows us where and who we should be connected to. He places you in the body where it pleases Him, He places you where you will be fed so you can grow and flourish and blossom and bloom for Him and become fruitful. We can either be God directed or man directed. Tradition has never set anyone free, but the truth that you know and live will set you free, being led by God and continuing with Him sets you free.
Having been a master expert in doing things my own way, I decided to drop and stop everything I was doing, what I thought were the things of God and seek God with all of my heart, and man it is a wonderful journey of encouragement and a relief that It is not me that can accomplish anything but God by me can.
Psalms 103 is one of my favorite Psalms I was reading this and this verse leapt out to me.
Psalms 107:3 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
Many believers know the acts of God, either by reading the Scriptures or many may have seen healing or been healed, or another great need met.
But how many really know God and His ways, and God’s manner, Moses had a great relationship with God so did Abraham, Abraham was called the friend of God, James 2:23, Isaiah 41:8, 2 Chronicles 20:7, Moses met God face to face Exodus 33:11.
So seeking Gods heart and direction, and listening to His still small voice God is able to direct us what we should do and when we should do it, God is at work in us both to will and to do of His Good pleasure. He has His work ready for you do.
There may be some reading this that feel on their own, or have no direction, or just feel like your going nowhere, I know how that feels I have been there too, But when I turned to God with all of my heart and decided to listen to God, then God was able to give to me what He wanted me to do and also what I needed.
If you are in that place where you feel fed up and dried up and no place to go this can happen when we are doing things our own way or someone else’s way our hearts can be in the right place to want to do the things of God, but it maybe you could be doing things in your own strength or somebody elses idea of moving with God. But if your willing to go to God and say Father, I will drop what I am doing and I come to you for direction, and will listen to your voice and do what you show me to do, then God will go to work 1000 per cent, He will encouraged you and open the right doors for you to move through, He will supply you with people that walk with Him and can encourage you to, with sound words and right doctrine. That will produce fruit in you and those around you.
He will put His desires in your heart, and as you move with those desires then you will see the hand of God go to work for you, God has provided everything for us through His son Jesus Christ, every need is met and when we know what is ours and what we have and how we can manifest it, then we will enjoy everything that God has freely given to us to enjoy.
God wants you encouraged and free from any bondage you may be experiencing.
You begin with a decision to go to God and do the things He wants you to do.
Seek Him with all your heart, many a great thing is birthed and given to you by God through your prayer to Him. He will put His desires in your heart.
Connect where God wants you to connect where you will be fed and given Gods encouragement. And stay connected.
Have a willing heart to do, drop anything that keeps you from being free and living unto God.
Expect God to go to work, to bring you the answers you need and be ready to do what He shows you to do. These things I encourage. It is also what I began to do, and it works, God is faithful always faithful when we make up our minds to trust Him with all our hearts, follow the encouragement He gives to you directly or what He shows through the Scriptures and by those that walk with Him.
Free yourself from anything or anyone that places a burden on you.
Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
To be entangled is to be snared, bondage is slavery to someone or traditions of men, Christ has set us free from the bondage of law and anything that would hold you back, we have been set free so we can live unto God and walk by and live in the spirit of God. You are free to live and move and have your being in God, Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly.
Psalms 37:3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
Psalms 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Psalms 37:5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
Psalms 37:6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
Psalms 37:7 Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Enjoy this new month go to God with all of your heart, trust Him for everything, delight in Him and he will give you the desire of your heart committed your way to the Lord trust Him and He will bring it to past, see it is God that does the work, as we go to Him, He gives to you the work to do, it by faith in Him that it might be by His wonderful grace
