Remember God’s Word.
Remember God’s Word – By Laurence Torr
One way to over come your Giants in life,
Remember Gods word to you why? Read on and find out – (written Article)
1 Timothy 2:4 Who (God) will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
There is a spiritual battle raging every day and the battle is for the hearts and minds of people, The God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ is also after the hearts and minds of men, that they may come to a full knowledge of the truth
11 Peter 3:9, The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
The word repentance mean to change one’s mind, as it appears to one who changes from going the wrong direction, to coming the right direction.
God doesn’t want any to perish but that all should come to repentance.
Perished means, to be lost, ruined, destroyed. That is what is at stake for the one who needs to turn his life to God, through believing on His son Jesus Christ.
In the gospel of John, Jesus Christ, described the devil as the thief that comes only in order to steal, kill and destroy
John 10:10, The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
And satan is describe as the god of this world in
11 Corinthians 4:4, In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
satan , is the god of this world as described, and he is out to steal the heart and minds of people away from the true God through the systems of this world. through religion, politics, through war, through fear, through pleasures of this world. And many other methods he has perfected through the years.
See we are the ones who decide who we are going to empower in lives, Either the True God, or the god of this world. Those are you choices. that is it.
We all have a free will choice to either live unto God or continue to walk According to the courses of this world, as it says in
Ephesians 2:2, Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Before we were born again we walked according to the course of this world and if you’re not born again that is how your walking (living) for believers, still living like they were unbelievers just leaves them deceived, and still in the dark. But as we believe Gods word to us, and begin to walk and live the truths we are learning, we can start livings as the children of God that he has called us to be.
So how do we overcome these attacks and live in victory and defeat our personal adversary in our daily living? One way is how Jesus Christ dealt with the devil in wilderness lets read
Matthew 4: 1 – 11. Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
That is how Jesus Backed off the enemy.
Jesus back off the tempter ( tempter another name of satan) with It is Written, Jesus, brought everything back to God Words and we can do the same.
The Word of God has to be living and burning in hearts, as well as playing out in our lives. As believers we back off the same enemy with the same means.
One way is to hid Gods word in our hearts so when we are under spiritual attack, we can bring the right word for the right situation.
King David was man after God’s own heart, and if we are too then our words will be similar if not the same as David’s
Psalms 119:11, Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Sin means to miss the mark, here David said he hides God word in his heart that he might not miss the mark with God.
we to can learn a great lesson here and see how important Gods word to us really is, so lets us hide the word in our heart just like a hidden treasure, lets continue to read here in Psalms
Verse 16, I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.
24, Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counselors.
35, Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight.
47, And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved.
77, Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.
92, Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction
93 I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me.
Wow, David delighted himself in the ways and word of God, the word was David counslor, the word help David go in the path of doing what God wanted him to do, and David loved the word, and commands of that word, and because David kept God words in his heart and living in his life he had Gods tender mercies so that he could live.
We can take great lessons for ourselves here, verse 92 David said unless Gods law had been his delight then he would have perished in his affliction, wow, that reads loud and clear personally to me. And then David made a statement, and commitment, I WILL NEVER FORGET thy Precepts, why because they quicken David.
One way to Keep Gods word alive and living in our lives is to remember the word for ourselves, quote Gods word to ourselves, and out loud, when we get hit in life, we say what Gods says instead of what the circumstance say.
Below are some verses you can practise to remember, they are in categories, so if your actions are off then bring the word back to your mind and ask yourself what does God say about that. Delight in the truths of God word to you today.
