God morning to you and grace to you and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith (believing) ; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Verse 9,  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Today I was thinking about the word Grace. in Ephesians 2:8 Paul shows us that we are save by grace through believing that not of yourself it is the gift of God and verse 9 tells us,   v 9, Not of works lest any man should boast.

Grace is God divine influence upon the heart

Grace is what God has done for us through Jesus Christ, there is nothing we could do to earn  grace which is God favour that we now experience and have in our lives. Grace is God unmerited divine favour to men. There is nothing we can do to earn this grace this wonderful favour of God to us, it received by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ and the work that he accomplished through His death burial and resurrection.  Jesus Christ done the work on our behalf, He was obedient to God and did not mess up in anyway. He fulfilled the law which no man could do He rescued us from sin and hell, and has given a life which is eternal and more than abundant.

Grace means that God does the work in our lives and through our lives as we trust him and let him lead us by His spirit, A lot times we try to do God’s work in our own  strength, we plan and organise events and meetings and classes and many other activities to reach out to the lost,  or to build up the body of Christ, it show great heart on the part of the believers that do this, but if it is from our own efforts it will not produce what God wants accomplished.

when we walk by the spirit of God listening to God and doing what He puts in our hearts to do, then God can accomplish great things through us, that is grace, it is God does the work we follow his lead by being obedient and listening to His still small voice.

Zechariah 4:6-7

6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD

unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of

hosts.

7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and

he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.

when God’s grace is at work,  in our lives they will be no effort on our part we just follow what God shows us to do and God does the work. He will make any mountain or problem in front of you become a plain, God is the one that will level to the ground the mountain in front for you.

Some time we forget that God is the one that does the work, and we try and solve the problems in our lives by our own strength instead of waiting to hear from God what he wants us to do.

Grace is God divine influence upon our hearts in other words He leads us and guides us and provides for us.  Jesus said take my yoke upon you and learn of me for my yoke is easy and my burdens are light. Jesus never done anything in his own strength or effort He always done the Father’s will, He moved as God led Him, setting the example for us to follow in His footsteps.

There is a lot more to be said about the Grace of God, and maybe I will cover that further down the road but in the mean time here are some definition on the word grace. I encourage you to a do word study on Grace, look up the records in the bible where this word Grace is recorded, allow God to show you and open your hearts to this wonderful Grace we have in Christ Jesus.
